We are pleased to invite you to our Ninth
Annual Los Angeles Garden Tour & Party presented by the Windsor
Square~Hancock Park Historical Society, April 27, 2014.
This year we selected gardens both large and
small that are representative of fine examples of gardens in the city, as well
as designed for Southern California living and year-round outdoor
entertaining. We hope you enjoy seeing these private gardens in this very
special area of Los Angeles, where preservation, pride of ownership, beautiful
landscaping and community spirit are always on display.
Our primary focus this year is directed towards
the plight of the vanishing honeybee and the onset of the global bee-hive
collapse. Along with seeking local solutions in public spaces, we will
explore planting and maintaining private "bee friendly" gardens. The
program, presented in partnership with The Daughters of the American Revolution
(DAR), will feature a personal garden tour with "Mrs. Lady Bird Johnson". a
honey tasting, fashion show, wildlife habitat booth, and other educational and
informative displays surrounding honeybees.
We will have select boutique vendors and
exciting silent auction items for your shopping pleasure.
Complimentary wine and beverages will be
available throughout the day and a light buffet supper will be served in the
We will once again support a local public school
by donating funds from this tour towards the greening project underway at Los
Angeles High School.
